Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo recently shocked their fans around the world by confirming their relationship. The two announced that they will tie the knot on October 31.
According to a report in Inquisitr, the 31-year-old actor will come to the VIP screening of the South Korean movie The Battleship Island, with his future wife. The event is scheduled to be held on July 20.
The duo shot to fame after starring in Descendants of the Sun. In the hit drama, Joong Ki plays the lead role as Captain Yoo Shi Jin, and Hye Kyo reprises the role of doctor named Kang Mo-Yeon.
Meanwhile, during an interview, the Running Man star's father talked about their wedding. He said, as quoted by Soompi: "[Song Joong Ki] is at the best age to get married so I'm glad he's engaged. As parents, we've decided to respect our son's decision. People were saying I was against their marriage, but that's a misunderstanding."
He added: "Now that my son will be having a stable family after marriage, I hope he works even harder to become an actor who can also be responsible for his household. I think my son will be able to achieve that."
As for the movie The Battleship Island, it is based on a true story toward the end of World War II, when hundreds of Koreans attempted to escape forced labor on the Japanese island of Hashima. The film is all set for a premiere on July 26.
