Song Joong Ki has opened up about his upcoming wedding to Song Hye Kyo. The couple shocked their fans around the world by confirming their relationship recently, and the two announced that they will tie the knot on October 31.
During an interview, he discussed his decision to marry the 35-year-old actress. He said, according to Soompi: "I'm going to be with her for the rest of my life and it's a very big decision. I can't think of a specific time when I decided marry her. After spending time with her, I began to build trust in her."
"We have jobs in which we have the attention of a lot of people. I definitely did become more wary. I'd like to train my mind. I do have to be more serious looking into the future. The projects I choose will become different too, especially when I get married and have children. Right now, it seems far off," he added.
The duo shot to fame after starring in Descendants of the Sun. In the hit drama, Joong Ki plays the lead role as Captain Yoo Shi Jin, and Hye Kyo reprises the role of doctor named Kang Mo-Yeon.
Meanwhile, during an interview, the Running Man star's father talked about their wedding. He said, as quoted by Soompi: "[Song Joong Ki] is at the best age to get married so I'm glad he's engaged. As parents, we've decided to respect our son's decision. People were saying I was against their marriage, but that's a misunderstanding."
He added: "Now that my son will be having a stable family after marriage, I hope he works even harder to become an actor who can also be responsible for his household. I think my son will be able to achieve that."
