Song Joong Ki, the Korean heartthrob is all set to visit Singapore on Aug 8 to promote his upcoming film, The Battleship Island, ahead of his wedding to actress Song Hye Kyo. The local movie distributors Golden Village Pictures and Clover Films revealed this on Monday via Facebook post.
The 32-year-old actor will be joined by Ryoo Seung Wan, the director, and his co-stars Hwang Jung Min and So Ji Sub for the promotion of the wartime thriller. The movie, which will see Song as a Korean independent fighter in the Japanese Occupation, opens in Singapore on Aug 17. The authorities said that more updates of the tour will be announced later.
Ever since the release of the Descendants of the Sun, Song Joong Ki has been garnering a lot of attention. But, the actor first rose to fame in 2010 historical drama Sungkyungkwan Scandal. He was also cast in hit variety show Running Man at around the same time, but it was last year that the actor became an international sensation.
Recently, the popular duo Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo announced their wedding date. According to reports, the Korean couple will be tying the knot on October 31.
Sports Seoul reported that the 31-year-old actor's parents had planned to come to Seoul from Daejeon to meet the actress and her mother for a formal marriage meeting. However, Blossom Entertainment stated: "They're still scheduling the meeting."
