Overview
Spain had a chance of finishing the group on the table of, however they gave away the chance following their 2-1 defeat to Croatia in the final group stage fixture. Alvaro Morata, the striker who returned to Real Madrid from Juventus opened the scoring, but two goals from Croatia saw them seal a victory to clinch the top spot.
This has resulted them finish second and now face Italy in the tournament. These two sides faced each other in the final of the Euro 2012 final, which saw Spain seal a comfortable victory over the Azzurri.
Italy, on the other hand, finished on top of the table after his side defeated Belgium in the opening fixture. This saw Antonio Conte's side signal their intenetions and also a warning that his side should not be taken lightly.
