Sunrisers Hyderabad host Kings XI Punjab in the 19th match of 2017 Indian Premier League season at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.
Both teams are heading into the match with an eye on ending their losing streak. Notably, the two teams, who opened the campaigns with two wins each, have lost their next two games on the trot.
The defending champions would have rued not making full use of a good opportunity to win in Kolkata on Saturday after their bowlers restricted the hosts to 172. All their batsmen got starts but none was able to go big as David Warner's men lost by 17 runs.
Sunrisers would be determined to not face another defeat and thus a return to home, where they won both their games this season, has come at the right time. The hosts will likely include Bangladesh pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman to boost their bowling unit today and leg-spinner Rashid Khan will once again be their trump card against the likes of Glen Maxwell and David Miller.
Kings XI need to quickly put their 51-run loss to Delhi Daredevils on Sunday behind and try to get back to winning ways later today. Lack of in-form bowlers has been their biggest cause of concern this season and the likes of Varun Aaron , Mohit Sharma and Sandeep Sharma need to step up and deliver for the team.
All-rounder Axar Patel, opener Manan Vohra and wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha have also not been at his best and skipper Maxwell will be looking for more options from the bench sooner than later if they do not buckle up.
