Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Monday that the Tampines Concourse bus interchange is scheduled to start operations on December 18. The new bus interchange will complement the current Tampines bus interchange and both of it will be connected through a 250-m barrier-free sheltered walkway, Channel NewsAsia reported.

Three bus services will serve at the bus interchange including existing services such as 18 and 39. A new service 129 will also serve it. Another new service, 127 will also be added to the roster of the current Tampines bus interchange.

"Residents in Tampines can look forward to more bus services and improved connectivity with the opening of the new Tampines Concourse bus interchange to increase the capacity," LTA told Channel NewsAsia.

The new bus interchange will have a dedicated boarding point and graduated kerb edges to provide hassle-free facilities to the passengers in wheelchairs. The concourse area will also have priority queues with seats for the elderly and disabled people.
