With watchOS 3.2, Apple will finally roll out the much needed "Theater Mode" to the Apple Watch which is akin to the Do-Not-Disturb Mode that Android wear already has, but when Apple chooses to do something, we can sure expect an edge out of it.
The Theater Mode lets users quickly mute the sound on their Apple Watch and avoid waking the screen on wrist raise. "Users still receive notifications (including haptics) while in Theater Mode, which they can view by tapping the screen or pressing the Digital Crown," Apple says. So no more shall the Apple watch raise the ire of your fellow movie goers by lighting up like a Christmas light but at the same time will make sure that the notifications are right there where you want them.
The Theater Mode was already packed in the watchOS 3.1.3 update according to Apple, but was not up for implementation. Now, thanks to a change log document on Apple's developer website we can safely ascertain that with watchOS 3.2 update it is finally going to be rolled out for the users.
Apple's watchOS 3.2 will also include the SiriKit. Now users will be able to use Siri, personal assistant on their Apple Watch to book a ride, send a message or make similar requests without the need to have an iPhone handy.
Apple SiriKit will allow third party developers to create apps or modify apps for the platform. "Apps that provide services in specific domains can use SiriKit to make those services available through Siri on watchOS. Making your services available requires creating one or more app extensions using the Intents and Intents UI frameworks. SiriKit in watchOS supports services in the following domains".
Some other new features being added in watchOS 3.2 are WatchKit Framework Enhancements and the AVAudioPlayer API.
Apple has dropped no hints on when watchOS 3.2 is going to finally launched for the consumers but we can expect a beta version to be available in the near future if rumors are to be believed.
