Actor Song Joong Ki and his rumoured girlfriend Song Hye Kyo once again proved their worth by achieving a milestone in their entertainment career. The talented couple made their way to the highly acclaimed President's Award recognized by the Korean government at the 2016 Korean Pop Culture and Arts Awards held this Thursday.
Accompanying the duo from the popular military-inspired series were writer Kim Eun Sook, Manhwa artist Lee Hyun Jae, Blues artist Lee Jung Sun and Comedian Uhm Yong Soo.
The couple who are said to be dating looked marvelous at the ceremony. The love-birds sat side-by-side and applauded each other for the prestigious recognition. Joong Ki relayed: "I believe I am loved because of all the efforts of all the actors before me, and if I go back even further, it's because of our ancestors."
"I am filming 'Warship' which is about Koreans who were forced into labor on Hashima Island, and I became very serious about thinking about this...I am here because all the people who made sacrifices. I will work hard to advance the pop culture from where I am, " he said.
The 31-year-old most loved Hallyu star also acknowledged the presence of his dear friend, Lee Kwang Soo, who received Prime Minister's award at the ceremony: "I am glad to receive an award on the same stage with Asia's Prince, Lee Kwang Soo, who has been with me since we were rookies," the actor said on stage.
Meanwhile, the pretty lady in black also gave her vote of thanks. She said: "I am reminded of all the staff who worked hard...I was able to receive this award because of all the fans here and abroad."
" I will continue to work hard to win the hearts of drama viewers everywhere," the talented actress asserted.
