The sensational nine-member girl K-pop band "TWICE" has hit a huge jackpot as they have topped Billboard's World Albums Chart at the same time taking the No.1place on Billboard's World Digital Songs Sales for the week with approximately 3,000 downloads for "Likey" from their comeback album "Twicetagram"
According to Nielsen Music, the popular girl group's recent release "Twicetagram" already had 1,000 copies sold in the week ending November 2, marking the best –selling K-pop album in America this week.
TWICE is the only female K-bop group to have topped both Billboard's World Album and World Digital Song Sales. Otherwise, BTS is the only other K-pop band to have achieved this feat.
The ninesome already sold 129,691 copies of the album during the first week since its release on October 30, according to Hanteo Chart. Twice's mini album "Signal" had 114,245 albums copies sold and held the previous record for the first week.
Recently "Likey" also set a new record as the fastest K-pop girl group music video to reach 40 million views. The song took the first place on weekly charts of five domestic streaming sites Naver Music, Genie, Bugs, Soribada and Olleh on November 6.
TWICE is a nine-member girl group produced under JYP Entertainment. The band launched themselves through the competition reality show SIXTEEN and officially debuted with the mini album "The Story Begins" on October 20, 2015.
TWICE saw global success from the moment they entered the K-pop competition with EP "The Story Begins" at no. 15 of Billboard's World Albums.
The group with its consistent hits sure is "one in a million" as they claim to be so.
