Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds defeated Wydad Casablanca of Morocco 3-2 in the fifth-place match of FIFA Club World Cup on 12 December, Tuesday.
While the Brazilian ace Mauricio Antonio opened the scoring for the Japanese side 18 minutes into the match, Wydad's winger Ismail el-Haddad equalized the scoreline just three minutes later on Tuesday.
Urawa Red's 29-year-old Yosuke Kashiwagi put his team ahead 2-1 with a goal in the 26th minute. Later in the 58th minute, the 25-year-old Antonio made it 3-1 for the Diamonds. However, Wydad's Reda Hajhouj narrowed the gap in the last minute, converting a penalty but could not save the team from the defeat.
The Moroccan team previously suffered a 0-1 defeat against Mexico's Pachuca, the winners of the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League, on Dec. 9 in the quarterfinal.
Urawa Red fell 0-1 to the United Arab Emirates league champion Al-Jazira in the quarterfinals.
