The Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and his girlfriend Anushka Sharma reportedly exchanged marital vows in Italy on Monday, December 11, 2017 in a ceremony attended by close relatives and friends. Kohli was a Delhi born Punjabi boy who showed his keen interest in cricket since his childhood. On the other hand, the famous Bollywood actress Anushka, who had no links with the cricket world, came from from an army family background and studied mostly in Bangalore.
In October 2002 Kohli first played for Delhi under-15 team, then in 2004, he was selected for Delhi Under-17 team and in July 2006, Kohli played for India Under-19 squad. While Kohli was rising as a big star from the cricket universe, Anushka did not want to be an actress as she was willing to become a model. She made her first runway debut in 2007 at Lakme Fashion Week.
Kohli and Anushka did not have a god-father in their respective fields, when both started to build their careers. January 2014: Next year when Kohli returned from India's South Africa tour he went to meet Anushka in her Mumbai apartment.
April 2014: The speculations about their relationship became more strong when Kohli was spotted in PK and Bombay Velvet movie sets to meet Anushka again. Later both shared posts about their meeting on social media.
October 2014: Despite the fact that Anushka is not from a sports background, during Indian Super League, a football tournament, both were spotted together. She went to support FC Goa, which is co-owned by Kohli.
Same month all the Kohli-Anushka fans were excited to see their strong bonding, as the captain of Indian cricket blew a kiss to the actress, who was clapping for him from the VIP box during an ODI match against Sri Lanka.
March 2015: Kohli praised Anushka's performance in the movie 'NH10' via twitter post.
February 2016: The valentine month was not romantic for both of them as there were many rumours about a break-up. According to reports they even unfollowed each other on social media.
June 2016: The couple apparently patched up again but soon cricket fans started blaming Anushka for Kohli's poor performance. However, Kohli finally took the decisive step through Twitter and criticised such remarks.
November 2016: Later both were spotted at the wedding of India's cricket star Yuvraj Singh, held in Goa.
December 2016: Paparazzi captured photos of Kohli and Anushka during their vacation in New York. Again there were reports about their engagement but later it turned out to be a hoax though briefly.
October 2017: The media and fans saw the couple coming together for a wedding dress commercial.
November 2017: Kohli and Anushka once again spotted together in public during the Indian Sports Awards inaugural ceremony.
Later in the month, both were featured together while dancing at the wedding reception of former Indian National cricketer Zaheer Khan and actress Sagarika Ghatge.
December 2017: According to reports both flew to Italy to get married. Although the marriage date was kept secret, several media outlets have claimed that the wedding will take place in Tuscany, Italy. Finally, the couple broke the news via a twitter.
