The popular zombie drama The Walking Dead reveals the sexuality of a character in the latest episode of the series. The member of Hilltop Colony member Jesus (Tom Payne) revealed that he was gay while he was having a conversation with Maggie (Lauren Cohan).
Jesus whose real name is Paul Rovia tells Maggie, "For the first time, I feel like I belong."
"When I was first here, I was never here," he continues. He further said, "I always found it hard getting close to anyone - neighbours, friends... boyfriends."
Though the character is gay in the graphic novels of Robert Kirkman, this is the first time that his sexuality has been revealed in the series. He is the sixth LGBT character after Aaron (Ross Marquand), Alisha (Juliana Harkavy), Tara (Alanna Masterson), Denise (Meritt Wever) and Eric (Jordan Woods-Robinson).
The episode largely focused on the assembled folk at the Hilltop Colony and also how Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Rosita's (Christian Serratos) avenge the death of Abraham by killing the leader of The Saviours', Negan. However, when they see Eugene and try rescuing him, he refuses to leave with them. Rather, he snaps at them saying,"I didn't ask you to come so go."
The episode also sees the return of Maggie and the viewers soon get to know that she's being avoided by Daryl (Norman Reedus) and is still living with the guilt of the death of her husband, Glenn (Steven Yeun).
