Eleven-member new Korean idol group Wanna One surged to No. 1 out of nowhere in the latest brand reputation rankings for boy bands in September.
Wanna One, which debuted only last August 7, claimed the top spot in the brand value list of the Korean Institute for Corporate Reputation with a total score of 18.88 million.
The institute analyzed 74.34 million pieces of big data from August 8 to September 9 based on media, community, participation and communication indices.
Wanna One, described as a "marketing blue chip," have dominated music charts and increased ratings of TV shows since they made their debut with the album "To Be One."
Coming in at second place is BTS with a score of 7.49 million, or a difference of 11.38 million compared to Wanna One.
EXO came third with 6.21 million. The boy band released their new album "The War" in July and the repackaged version "The War: The Power of Music" on September 5.
NU'EST, which experienced a rebirth through the survival program "Produce 101," placed fourth with 3.37 million, down by 65.83 percent compared to their August score of 9.87 million.
Infinite grabbed fifth place with 2.41 million, falling 20.83 percent from 3.05 million last month.
