TvN's reality cooking show, Three Meals a Day, is all set for its premiere on 14 October. The third edition of the show, which features Lee Seo Jin, Shinhwa's Eric Mun and Yoon Kyun Sang, will be shot at a secluded Deukryang Island of Goheung, Jeollanam-do.
Similar to the first season, the latest edition too adopted the concept of Fishing Village. Apparently, all the three idols will be seen boating and hunting for fishes for their meals. During the show's press conference, Mun, who keeps himself away from the reality show, revealed that he was hesitant to take the show because of his introvert personality, but a fellow idol inspired him.
The singer shared: "I've always liked '1 Night, 2 Days' and was envious when I saw Eun Ji Won (from Sechskies) on it. When you perform on stage as a singer or act in a production as an actor, it's all work. I thought it would be enjoyable to work in a great setting with great people like on '1N2D'."
"The envy I had toward that still lingered, which influenced my decision to go on the show," the Shinhwa member told Allkpop.
As the concept of the show goes, the contestants are left at a far away rural place for three days a week and use whatever food they find there to prepare three meals a day. To make the show more interesting, various celebrities are called to make guest appearance to taste the food cooked by the contestants.
Furthermore, Eric was asked to share the name of his favorite idol whom he would like to call as guest at his dinner party, to which the boy band member responded: "If one of the members were to come, I'd recommend Andy. He and I are similar, but he's not as reserved about meeting people as I am. He cooks well, he's neat, and he's crafty. If Andy comes, I feel like I won't have to do anything."
Meanwhile, the PD of the show once shared his excitement on roping in Eric as one of the contestants. In a previous interview he told Soompi: "Eric hasn't done variety by himself before .He was shy at first. But we cast him because he is well-known for enjoying fishing regularly."
"He was happy once he knew Lee Seo Jin was appearing, because they had been friendly in the past," the producer said.
The new season of Three Meals a Day premieres October 14 at 9:15 PM KST on tvN.
