Miss World- the beauty battle is dominated by Indian women since 1966 when Reita Faria became the first Indian to claim the title. In 2017, after 17-years, Manushi Chhillar became the sixth Indian beauty queen to win Miss World. Now the question comes: Will she follow her predecessors into Bollywood?
Apart from Rita Faria, all the winners of Miss World had become a part of the movie industry. While some of them have already faded away, some are doing great and slowly venturing into Hollywood.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya was 21 when she represented India in 1994 Miss World and became the second Indian woman to achieve the crown. After three years she started her journey with Indian film industry. She made her debut in a Tamil movie called Iruvar, which came in 1997. Later she entered the Bollywood, where she did some remarkable movies like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar and many more. Although she took a break from her acting career after she got pregnant in 2011, she returned with a bang with the movie 'Jazbaa' in 2015.
Diana Hayden
In 1997, Diana was crowned Femina Miss India and in the same year, she won the 'Miss World' title. She also became a part of the glamorous film industry in India but unfortunately could not shine like her former Miss Universe winner Aishwarya. Diana started her acting career with a foreign TV show called Holby City in 2003. She made her Bollywood debut with Tehzeeb, where she shared the screen with Shabana Azmi, Urmila Matondkar and Arjun Rampal.
Yukta Mookhey
At the age of 22, Yukta became Miss World in 1999. She also followed the trend to become a part of Bollywood industry and did four movies. All of her films failed to make any impression in the Box Office and finally in 2008, she had quit acting.
Priyanka Chopra
In 2000, Priyanka won the Miss World beauty pageant at the Millennium Dome. She is now one of the most successful women in the Indian film Industry. She received numerous awards including Padma Shri, which is a fourth highest civilian award in India. Her acting career started with a short movie called Sajan Mere Satrangiya in 2001. She performed in movies like Aitraaz, Fashion, Barfi!, Mary Kom etc. in 2015 she received an opportunity to work overseas and since then Priyanka has become a part of the Hollywood industry as well.
