The highly anticipated flagship device from Xiaomi, Mi 5, is all set to debut in India on 31 March. Xiaomi has sent out press invites for the launch event. This smartphone was recently announced in MWC 2016 and went on sale in China earlier this month.
In China 32GB and 64GB variants come with a 3D glass back, and a 128GB variant was launched with a 3D Ceramic body. Mi5 Pro variant is however unlikely to be launched in India.
Mi5 is priced at RMB 1999 in China which roughly translates to Rs 20,500 or $310 approximately while the Mi5 Pro is priced at RMB 2699 which is approx Rs 27,700 or $415.
The 32GB variant comes with a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3GB of RAM, while the 64GB variant features a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3GB of RAM.
The rest of the specifications remain the same. It is one of the fist devices featuring Snapdragon 820 processor to be commercially available.
It has a 16MP camera at the back with DTI technology, 4-Axis OIS and PDAF along with dual LED flash. On front, there's a 4MP Ultrapixel camera and the device comes with a 3D glass cover on the back.
It also has a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, fingerprint scanner concealed under the home button and 5.15-inch full HD display. For connectivity it has dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, IR Blaster, USB Type-C port and NFC. Mi5 runs on Xiaomi's custom MIUI 7 skin on top od Android Marshmallow .
