The love triangle between the characters played by Girls' Generation singer YoonA and actors Im Si-wan and Hong Jong-hyun was quite intense in MBC drama 'The King Loves,' which ended on September 19. Viewers were kept guessing till the end as to who Eun San would end up choosing. Im Yoon-ah, better known as YoonA talked about the outcome of the love triangle as well as celebrating the 10th debut anniversary of Girls' Generation with her band mates. The group had officially made their debut on August 5, 2007.
As noted by website Soompi, YoonA recently sat down for an interview following the conclusion of 'The King Loves' and talked about why the ending turned out the way it did. "To those who liked Rin-San, it was a happy ending, and to those that liked Won-San, they might have been disappointed. Since I was just San, I liked everyone," she said.

YoonA also revealed she herself didn't know about the drama's outcome initially, saying, "Many people were curious about San's feelings. Even I had to go to the end to realise that Eun San liked Rin. In the original novel, the story ended with Rin-San getting together, but I wondered if it would change during the dramatisation. But by the time the last script came out, I knew for sure it was going to be Rin-San."
She did have some acting regrets though and said, "If I'd known a little earlier, I could have expressed my feelings more clearly towards Won and Rin. The viewers were confused and there were times when I was confused as well. I think even the writer was thinking about it until the end."
However, she thinks, "On the other hand, I think the mystery of who she would choose had a good influence overall. I think maybe San didn't know herself that she liked Rin. He always came to save her and showed up whenever she needed support, so I think her heart opened little by little. I think that when she learned it was Rin who saved her on the roof, she fell in love with him. I asked the female staff who they thought San liked, but there were different opinions there too, just like with the viewers."
She added, "I've been asked, 'Weren't you worried Eun San would appear fickle?' But I tried to express that San liked Won as a person and a friend, while Rin made her heart flutter more. However, the main point I focused on was that San didn't want to get in the way of their friendship."
YoonA also talked about completing 10 years with Girls' Generation and what the girl group meant to her. "Girls' Generation played a huge role in building me up to where I am today. We recently celebrated our 10th debut anniversary," she said, adding, "It's not easy to stick together for 10 years. I think we're pretty cool for reaching 10 years as a girl group."
As for her acting career, the 27-year-old singer said, "I think people started viewing me differently [as an actress] ever since 'Confidential Assignment' and 'The K2.' It's my 10th year as an actress, but it feels like I started last year. I'm curious about a lot of things when it comes to acting, and I think my attitude changed as well." She added, "There are a lot of talented idol actors these days. They [motivate] me to work harder."
YoonA and the other 'The King Loves' cast members recently visited Im Si-wan where he is currently posted; serving in the military. She gifted him a signed Girls' Generation CD.
