Spains Civil Guard storms polling station

Spain and amp;#39;s Civil Guard have burst into a polling station in Girona, Spain wearing riot gear and smashing glass doors. The Catalan president Carles Puigdemont was expected to vote at the station in an independence vote for Catalonia, which has been deemed illegal by the Spanish government in Madrid.

Catalans wake up ready for independence vote

Catalans have spent the night sleeping in polling stations and on the streets outside in preparation for their independence referendum on Sunday (October 1). Spain and amp;#39;s central government have declared the vote illegal, but local governments remain insistent the vote will go ahead.

Thousands of demonstrators have gathered outside City hall to protest against the independence referendum planned to go ahead in Catalonia on Sunday (October 1st). Tens of thousands are expected to turn up at the polling stations. However the referendum has no legal status and the government are trying to prevent it from going ahead. They have sealed schools which were planned to host polling stations and sent police to the region

South Koreas Korean Broadcasting System reports several North Korean Missiles have been moved from a rocket facility in the capital Pyongyang.South Korea and the United States are said to have detected the move.According to the report the missiles could either be intermediate range Hwansong-12 or intercontinental ballistic Hwasong-14 missiles.South Korean officials are concerned North Korea will conduct more missile launches.The predict it could happen on either near the anniversary of the founding of its community party on October 10th or when China holds its Communist Party Congress on October 18th.

Mexico City residents still unable to return home following deadly earthquake

Some Mexico City residents are unable to return home following the deadly earthquake on September 19th. They are having to wait till their buildings are inspected to ensure they are safe to return. This has resulted in residents sleeping in their cars nearby as they are worried their properties may be broken into. In the South of the city some residents have been able to return, however they are wary.
