Residents seen desperately waving for help from Grenfell Tower fire

A massive fire ripped through a 24-storey apartment block in west London before dawn on 14 June, causing fatalities and injuring dozens more after residents were left trapped inside. One resident can be seen waving a piece of white cloth from one of the upper floors as flames ravaged the tower.

Nearly 200 fire-fighters and 40 fire engines are tackling a huge blaze that has engulfed Londons Grenfell Tower on the Lancaster West Estate in Latimer Road. The fire was reported at around 1.16am BST. The Metropolitan Police has said that an evacuation process is under way. It added that a number of people have been treated for injuries without giving any exact details.
