UN special envoy and Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie has responded to criticism over Vanity Fairs article, which described the casting process for Angelina Jolies directorial, First They Killed My Father. Jolie spoke to Vanity Fair and explained how they used a casting game which involved giving money to poor children then taking it away, causing outrage online. But the Actor has denied that children were mistreated, saying in a statement that I am upset that a pretend exercise in an improvisation, from an actual scene in the film, has been written about as if it was a real scenario.

On July 24, President Trump made an impassioned speech at the White House, calling for Republican senators to repeal Obamacare while standing in front of a collection of children, whom he referred to as victims of the Affordable Care Act.In a video of the highlights of the speech, posted on YouTube on 25 July, Trump turned and shook the hands of each of the children and their parents, but appeared to ignore a young boy in a wheelchair and paid no attention to his outstretched arm.President Trump came in for criticism for the apparent snub, most notably from JK Rowling, who took aim at Trump in a series of tweets and said: How stunning, and how horrible, that Trump cannot bring himself to shake the hand of a small boy who only wanted to touch the President.
